The Weekly Seven with Katy

The Weekly Seven

Hello Sunday! Here are some of my favourite things this week including an update on our sale.

1.  Interior Design Studio

Last week we announced some big changes at Feather & Oak. The closure of our retail store, but also our commitment to offering a more streamlined Interior Design, Styling and Home Furnishings service from our beautiful, refurbished studio at 162 High Street. We are excited about the future here and we look forward to welcoming you here soon. If you have a project on the horizon, it's never too early in the process to book a discovery call. 2. Monkey Business Wallpaper

Mischievous monkeys climb to and fro on tropical foliage in this playful and practical wallcovering. Hand painted in gouache and digitally printed, this textile captures the brushstrokes and painterly nature of the original artwork.

The motifs take reference from the ceramic monkey statues found in Elvis’s ‘Jungle Room,’ a tropical-inspired kitsch retreat within his Memphis home. What a fun wallpaper, with a great story to introduce to those creative at heart.

 3. Lovelace Fabric

Use as a coordinate or standalone design, this colourful emerised cotton is a fabulous choice for upholstery and blinds. Displaying a comparatively simple geometric trellis, its woven bamboo pattern sits perfectly alongside our statement florals. Named after Ada Lovelace, the English mathematician and writer who is often regarded as the first computer programmer. What a dramatic fabric for upholstery especially boldly mixed with other complimentary prints!

 4. Platinum Project

Our New York pleat has been popular with many of our clients recently. This Charles Parsons Paddington fabric in Platinum works beautifully with the colours of this client's bedroom. The New York pleat on a top fix tracks gives the appearance of larger windows and utlises less fabric than many other hanging styles. This was such a beautiful curtain choice.

Book a consult with us today to learn more about this popular curtain style.

 5. Design Tips

We want to inspire you to think outside the box when selecting home furnishings. Mixing fabrics in a variety of prints works brilliantly if all the fabrics fall into a similar family. This is a selection of textured fabrics we are working on for a client. These all work well together as they are in a similar tone and interesting textures. Together they compliment one another, and there is a subtle undertone of sage which pulls them all together. Colour and tonal Perfection!

 6. Sale Update

We held our big 50% OFF SALE on Saturday and had such a wonderful show of support. Thanks to everyone who made it down!

We will be closed on Monday for a stock take.

We will open again on Tuesday 9am to clear the last of our SALE items so if you missed out Saturday this is your opportunity. We still have a selection of vases, art works, mirrors, chairs and curtain drops available. Be fast, doors closing soon!

 7. Local Support

We just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all our customers who have messaged, commented and called us over the last few days to wish us well on the next chapter at Feather & Oak Interiors. We loved all the local support that turned out for our sale and we truly appreciate all our wonderful customers and the community who showed up, even lining up patiently before the doors opened!

Thank you for all the support.
