The Weekly Edit

We decided to close our office on Friday and take a four-day weekend to ensure we are well rested for what is shaping up to be a very busy year! I hope that your weekend is restful, relaxing and full of sunshine!!

This week we have been creating lots of lovely window furnishing schemes for clients with pretty sheer fabrics, complimentary linen-look roller blinds and crisp white shutters. This combination is such a great way to get both the functionality of screening for the sun but still having visibility during the day, whilst looking pretty and soft in areas with hard flooring. Reach out if you want to know more - there are lots of options!

1. Spot The Join

We love working with specialists in their field and our fabulous Andrew is one of the best at hanging wallpaper!

Working with high-end or complex wallpaper designs requires experience and delicate installation techniques to ensure there is no creasing or tearing of the wallpaper. The perfect alignment of patterns is crucial for intricate designs like florals, geometrics and murals. And let’s not forget tight and tricky rooms like powder rooms which require the navigation of corners and existing fixtures!!

We thought you might like to play ‘Spot The Join’ to see if you can find the wallpaper join on this super fun wallpaper our lovely client used in her upstairs powder room.

2. Custom Furniture

We love creating custom furniture schemes for our clients and sometimes bespoke furniture is just what fits the bill! Getting the perfect dimensions and fabric along with a cheeky embellishment or two can result in the perfect furniture arrangement for your room.

The chair in this range has a curved back and sits on a swivel base so is well suited for a corner or with a buddy to create a pair of chairs in your layout. The matching sofa has oodles of configurations and again the rounded back option looks lovely and welcoming if you have an open plan space.

Reach out if you would like some help with designing your scheme and furniture layout. Our one-room styling consult is an easy $250 to get you underway!

 3. Trend - Maximalism

This week we have taken a deep dive into another design theme we are seeing for 2025 - Maximalism. This trend has been building for a while and is the antithesis to minimalism. Maximalism is all about embracing boldness, vibrancy and personality through the use of colour, texture and pattern.

Maximalism celebrates individuality and creating spaces that feel alive, warm, and full of character. The key is balance—while it’s about layers and exuberance, you don’t want your space to feel overcrowded or cluttered.

We have broken down some of the elements of this trend with three collections of wallpapers and fabrics that embody this concept - a Maximalism 1, 2, 3 if you will. Check out our blog for all the do’s and don’ts for your place.

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2025

We are starting to see warm textured weaves and bouclé's coming through for the autumn months ahead. These fabrics are highly durable and useful for daily life, repelling stains and with good colourfastness perfect for ottomans, chairs and anchor cushions.

Design Tip

Maximalism in 2025 is about more than furniture and decor. We are definitely seeing more consideration for colour on ceilings, floors, skirtings, architraves and coving. Don’t forget these areas when considering your overall scheme.

Excited About...

This long weekend! A few chores, gardening, walks and reading - the perfect weekend!!
