1. Show Your Stripes

Stripes are the ultimate timeless classic in interior design. While trends like houndstooth and checks ebb and flow, stripes remain a steadfast choice, effortlessly complementing a variety of styles.

Their versatility lies in their simplicity—bold or subtle, vertical or horizontal, stripes can adapt to any space, creating visual interest without overpowering. Incorporating stripes into your home is easier than you think. Upholstered furniture with striped fabrics adds texture and dimension, while striped curtains or bedding create a cohesive, polished look.

Cushions and rugs with stripe patterns are perfect for layering, providing both contrast and harmony. One of our favourites, wallpaper featuring stripes, can add depth and character to a room. No matter the application, stripes have an enduring appeal that transforms everyday spaces into timeless masterpieces.

2. Tile Trends

With so many tile options available, choosing the right ones for your bathroom can be a challenge. From porcelain to natural stone and textured ceramics, each type offers unique character. To simplify the process, consider your overall style—modern, classic, or rustic—and use that as your guide.

Mixing and matching tiles is a popular trend, but balance is key. Pair bold patterns with neutral tones to create depth without overwhelming the space. Functionality is just as important as style. Durable, slip-resistant tiles like porcelain or stone are ideal for flooring, while glossy tiles on walls can brighten and open up the room.

Stick to a cohesive colour palette and limit your mix to two or three styles for a clean, polished look. Thoughtful choices will result in a bathroom that’s both practical and effortlessly stylish.

 3. Christmas Menu

Planning your Christmas menu can be one of the most exciting parts of the holiday season- unless you hate cooking of course! Start by balancing traditional favourites with fresh, festive twists to suit your family and guests.

From a glazed ham, to vibrant salads and sides, a well-rounded menu ensures there’s something for everyone. There are some fabulous ideas on Pinterest including pesto Xmas trees and ornamental cheese balls. Preparation is key to a stress-free Christmas day.

Opt for make-ahead dishes like chilled desserts, pre-prepped vegetables, or a stuffing mix that can go straight into the oven. This not only saves time but also allows you to enjoy the day with loved ones - which is the most important part of this holiday!

Loving for 2024

I am quite obsessed with these deep coloured Nuance tiles at Brymac Tiles. This look is currently on trend but I believe it is around to stay for a while as we are all getting out of our comfort zones and getting our creative flair on!

Design Tip

When picking tiles, consider scale and proportion. Large-format tiles make a small bathroom feel more spacious, while smaller tiles or mosaics add intricate detail and texture. Always request samples to see how they look in your space with natural and artificial lighting.
