The Weekly Edit

This week we give advice on how to choose the right white and we talk tiles after attending a tile presentation earlier in the week.

We also showcase an amazing art installation that we have sourced for a client.

1. Finding The Right White

Finding the perfect shade of white for interior design requires careful consideration of various factors.

Start by assessing the natural light in the space; cooler whites may complement north-facing rooms, while warmer whites can enhance south-facing ones. Next, consider the undertones present in other elements like flooring and furnishings to ensure harmony.

Sampling different white paint swatches on the walls and observing how they appear at different times of the day can help narrow down the options. Additionally, experimenting with different finishes, such as matte or satin, can influence the overall ambiance of the room.

Some of our favourite whites from Dulux are Cardrona, Haast, Opononi, Manorburn and from Resene Sea-fog, Merino, Rice Cake and Black White.

2. Italian Tiles

Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to attend a captivating tile presentation at Brymac Tiles, where Ceramiche Piemme showcased an exquisite array of Italian tiles.

We were treated to a diverse selection of tiles boasting a spectrum of colours, patterns, and textures. It was thrilling to witness the resurgence of florals in tile design, adding a touch of whimsy and elegance to the collection. Additionally, we were impressed by the stunning tiles featuring wood-like appearances, perfectly blending the warmth of natural wood with the durability of tiles.

The experience left us inspired and eager to incorporate these innovative and timeless tile designs into our interior projects. Is it time to spruce up you bathroom tiles? Get in touch!

 3. Lukeke Birds

Recently we have specified some Lukeke cast glass birds as a wall art installation in a client’s home. This series includes a range of native NZ birds in a plethora of luminous colours. These pieces look impressive installed as a single, cluster or flock and when mounted appear as if in flight, creating a joyful display.

Adding artwork to your home isn't just about decoration; it's about infusing your space with pieces that resonate with your personality, memories, and passions. We love curating a diverse range of artwork for our clients, encompassing everything from captivating wall murals and intricate wall sculptures to stunning traditional artwork and beyond.

Please touch base if you would like us to source some artwork for your home!

Loving for 2024

I have stumbled across some lovely tile murals which serve as captivating focal points, blending artistry and functionality to add charm and personality to a space.

Design Tip

When selecting artwork for your space, consider choosing pieces that evoke an emotional response or speak to your personal interests or style. Pay attention to the scale and proportion of the artwork in relation to your room and surrounding furnishings to ensure a harmonious balance.

Tips For April

It is now the perfect time to venture outdoors and view the vibrant hues of the changing leaves during walks in nature. It may be brisk, but the colours are all so pretty!
