The Weekly Edit
Welcome to 2025!!
Although all the carols and traditional foods lend themselves to a northern hemisphere winter Christmas, I love that our NZ Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the New Year are wrapped amongst our summer holidays.
We get to spend time with family and friends, relaxing and unwinding and giving a chance to reflect and imagine the year ahead.
Some people loathe New Year’s Resolutions, but I love them and even if my resolutions don’t last beyond March at least the first three months were productive and satisfying!!
1. Happy 2025!
The team and I are in the middle of our summer holidays and having a refresh and an unwind ready for a busy 2025.
Hopefully you caught up with our ‘Guess Who’ before Christmas but if not, today I am enroute to camp in the Marlborough Sounds with the family and vast loads of extras. It’s going to be fun although I am slightly concerned about feeding a crowd!
We are back in the office on the 13th January and have a really exciting launch coming soon to help those that are planning a renovation or new build for 2025. Watch this space!
Hopefully the sun is shining wherever you are and your feet are up, with a good book in one hand and my favourite summer cocktail in the other!! See my favourite recipe below!!
2. Summer Cocktail
This cocktail is as delicious as it is easy, making it perfect for summer holidays! A fruity blend of home made strawberry syrup and our new favourite - Chocolate Fish Gin from 1919 Distilling.
This recipe makes two drinks.
INGREDIENTS
30ml Lime Juice, 30ml Triple Sec, 60ml 1919 Chocolate Fish Gin, 60ml Strawberry Syrup, 60ml Pineapple Juice
STRAWBERRY SYRUP
1/2 Cup sugar, 1/2 Cup Water, 1 Punnet of Strawberries (stems removed, roughly chopped)
Add all ingredients to a small pot and gentle boil until the sugar has melted. Allow the pot to cool and then blend all the ingredients.
To make the cocktail fill your shaker with ice and add all the ingredients, shake and pour.
3. Wallpaper Inspo
It’s no secret that we are big fans of wallpaper at the Feather and Oak Studio. We think it is one of the most effective methods for changing up a room and creating maximum impact. We are thrilled that clients are getting bolder and love the concept of introducing personality with bold and interesting wallpapers.
If you are still feeling a little commitment-phobic that’s okay - perhaps use wallpaper in a less-used space such as a guest WC or perhaps in the back of a shelving unit or hallway cupboard.
If you are fully on board with all things fabulously wallpaper then check out the stripes and plaids wallpaper inspo for your next interior project! Wanting more ideas on how to bring your space to life with a statement wallpaper? Then we’re your girls!

Loving for 2025
Warm days and long twilights. It’s so relaxing being outside eating and laughing with family until it gets dark!
Design Tip
Wanting to summer-vibe at home? Invest in a couple of soft linen throws for your indoor and outdoor furniture. They create a lovely layered effect and are light enough to provide warmth as the sun sets and the nights cool.
