The Weekly Edit

Hello Summer!! How lovely to have had such balmy temperatures this week - it feels like summer holidays are truly just around the corner!

This week on the Weekly Edit, we’re sharing a before and after from one of the loveliest client we have never met(!!), Christmas Tree decorating tips and a very exciting, coming-soon announcement!

If you need any help in the run into the festive season or want to book in to chat in the New Year when you have the headspace then get in touch. If you just need a laugh then we can probably help with that too!

1. Too Remote? No Way!

We have been working with the loveliest client this year to transform her living spaces but we haven’t met her yet!! Well, in-person anyway!

Nestled in beautiful Golden Bay the team has been working on updating three living spaces and we have a special before and after to show you of the Family Room. 

We have worked together on What’s App to ensure that distance isn’t a problem to getting a beautiful updated space that reflects our client’s taste and personality. Check out the new rug, updated upholstery and cushions along with some positional changes of furniture to create a open, relaxed and conversational space.

One day soon we will get to meet our lovely client in person (when we are off to bask along golden shores) but just in case you are remote too we can style with you!

2. Tree Decorating 1, 2, 3!

Follow our tree decorating advice to get the perfectly decorated tree at your place!

We are all big fans of Christmas at Feather and Oak Interiors and we all love a perfectly decorated tree.

We have a couple of trees at our house, a Family Tree and a Children’s Tree. The kids are older now but the Children’s Tree was my solution for some of the wayward pre-school decorations that became front and centre on our tree and messed with my interior design heart.

We love the kids tree and all the memories it inspires and we all love our Family Tree with special decorations from all over the world. (When we travelled a million years ago we purchased small Christmas decorations rather than the obligatory t-shirt. Every year we revisit some of our favourite destinations and memories when we dress the tree!

 3. Launching Soon...

I am super excited to dangle the carrot!!!

We have found that lots of our lovely clients over the years have arrived in our doors stressed, confused and sometimes frustrated from their renovation and build projects. There might be issues with setting the vision, multiple re-designs with the architect, fear over material and product selections, super short timeframes for really important decisions and everything else in between.

So... we have almost finished creating your renovation / build’s greatest tool - Plan Your Build! A comprehensive, five module course to equip you with all the tools and knowledge to plan and execute your project with confidence.

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2024

I have been so impressed with all the Christmas decorations available this year. There are some gorgeous pink decorations (think macarons, cupcakes, wrapped lollies and glass baubles) which make me wonder if I need a pink tree in my life??!! Hmmmmm

Design Tip

As we get into summer temperatures it is a great time to nourish your leather furniture with a conditioner. Warm weather and lots of daylight can dry furniture quickly so add a layer of protection to your hardworking sofas and chairs.
