The Weekly Edit
We are truly on the countdown to Christmas now which is both exciting and alarming!
I have left my shopping a little later than usual this year so it’s into the city for a full family shopping affair today! Let’s see who survives and who thrives (we have some definite shoppers and non-shoppers in the family) so keeping the team fed and watered will be a key survival tactic..
This week on the Weekly Edit, we’re sharing a special project in the beautiful Blenheim vineyards and some bespoke cushion tips - check out the infamous skills of our fabulous Lynda!
1. Vineyard Holiday?!
This year we have worked on a special project in the heart of the vineyards in Blenheim. An old family homestead was given a freshen up and filled with stylish furniture and decor to get ready for guests!
The lovely owners wanted to share their homestead with visitors wanting a special location to stay in the heart of Marlborough. Perfect for a party of wedding guests or extended family weekends, this unique property needed functional (and beautiful) furniture that worked with and highlighted the original features of the property as well as providing all the comforts guests would expect.
We think the homestead has turned out beautifully! If you would like to book a weekend vacay then follow this link
2. Bespoke Cushions
We are huge fans of the effect bespoke cushions can have in your space. Cushions can often complete a scheme and provide the connection between elements in the room by combining colour, pattern and style.
Customising the size of your cushions to suit your furniture is another key benefit. We have created some oversize lumbars which look amazing on a super king bed and a mid-sized lumbar is a great shape for an occasional chair.
We are super proud of the amazing cushions sewn in-house by our clever Lynda! She has exceptional attention to detail with matching patterns and hiding zips and has secret ninja skills when it comes to stuffing cushion inners!
3. Summer Projects...
For those of us who don’t venture away on holidays the summer period can be a great opportunity to get a home renovation project underway.
We are looking to paint the exterior of our house this summer, both the roof and the exterior walls. It is going to be a huge job but it definitely needs doing and the opportunity to reset the design direction of the house with new exterior colours is exciting!
I have been so impressed with the information in the Dulux website which details everything from selecting the correct paint, prepping your surfaces, painting tools and tips and how to dispose of paint afterwards. (I absolutely groan about having to clean brushes at the end of the day and leave them lying around annoyingly so that Edward will take pity and clean them for me #winning!!)
4. Katy's Mini Edit
Loving for 2024
Summer Days and Summer Dresses!! How easy is it to throw on a dress in the morning and boom - outfit done! There are so many pretty dresses around this season with Mediterranean inspired prints that just beg to be paired with a summer cocktail on the outdoor lounger!
Design Tip
We have had the pleasure of working with clients this year that have embraced colour. It is wonderful to see the joy that colour brings in a home and we encourage you to be brave and think about what colours might inspire you in your next project.
