The Weekly Seven
Hello, Sunday! It's time to get warm and cozy and take a peek at the beautiful things I've been loving this week.
1. Elvis Luxe
This luxe velvet fabric by Catherine Martin by Mokum was inspired by Elvis's iconic stage costumes and jewellery. This fabric features a lithe leopard and is woven in a decadent cut-pile velvet with the leopard motif sunken into the cloth adding further depth and dimension to the pattern.
It is such a fun, bold fabric and would be great for cushions, ottomans and headboards. If you really want to channel Elvis we could use it for fabulous curtains in your gin lounge!
2. Peacock Walls
Catherine Martin is married to Baz Luhrmann who directed the movie 'Elvis'. She was the costume and set designer and the latest collection, The Royal Menagerie, is inspired by the '70's and the joyful exuberance of all things Elvis.
This wallpaper was inspired by brightly coloured, stylized peacocks which adorn the handmade stained-glass doors which separate the living room from the music room in Elvis’s iconic Graceland home.
3. Pouncing Tiger Cushion
Grab your own Elvis-inspired cushions with these fun, velvet feature cushions. There is no subtleties with these drama queens - they are all about being the centre of attention!
4. Moroccan Print Beauty
The pretty soft tones of this Moroccan inspired print will help you while away the hours dreaming of travels abroad. The arch shape frame is gold is and would create a lovely and interesting piece amongst your rectangular shaped artwork.
5. Lost World Mugs
We have received another drop of the highly regarded Dunoon's bone china mugs. A tropical jungle scene is depicted on this mug representing the ‘Lost World’. The backdrop of this scene features big green leafy palms with blue mountains behind. In the foreground is a tiger prowling through the undergrowth, along with a zebra. Maybe get super organised and grab an early Christmas gift?
6. BNZ Heritage Apartments
We are in the final stages of styling the upstairs apartments of this heritage restoration. With the grand opening of the building on the 17th October, I can't wait to show you around. A huge congratulations to the contractors and investors who have worked together to bring this beautiful building back to life.
7. Spring Cleaning
There is something about this time of year where we feel the need to tidy, clean and organise. I'm definitely feeling the urge this spring - I'm not sure if it is because areas that are tidy and organised give me a sense of order and control when life is so busy and Christmas is less than 80 days away??!
I'm keen to hear any tips about how you organise your cupboards or attack your spring cleaning regime.
