Whisky Den
Moving from the kitchen, dining and living areas in our Penberley build you travel down a link with windows to the garden on one side and beautiful double New York loft style doors leading to the Whiskey Den on the other. Moody, warm and enveloping - once you sit down in a leather chair, drink in hand watching the latest Netflix series you may never want to leave!
This home is located in Christchurch and was designed as a completely custom new build for our clients, in collaboration with Radius Building and Boyd Chamberlain Architecture.
When designing this room we wanted to create a zone to retreat and relax. Predominately used in the evening we amped up the moody tones with a textured plaid wallpaper reminiscent of men's suit fabrics, leather chairs and hide footstools. A softly patterned rug over wool carpet grounds the seating area and woven cushions bring some interest to the seating.

To create a sense of warmth and retreat in this room we layered dark on dark with charcoal wallpaper, black leather chairs and black and white cowhide ottomans. Working with the clients own furniture pieces we added another leather chair, rug and scattered around styling pieces that pulled the overall look together. Crystal and glass barware has been placed ready for use and side tables and trays provide spots to corral remotes and paraphernalia.
