The Weekly Seven
Hello! Here are some of my favorite pieces this week and some lovely prints I want to share with you!
1. Le Rotin Wallpaper
This tone-on-tone pattern is a natural imitation of rattan, barely distinguishable from the real thing. The subtle weave of fibers creates a pretty play of light and dark shadows and looks truly effective. Different coloured backgrounds bring this weave to life and the wallpaper would make a stunning addition to your feature wall. Love!
2. Homespun by James Dunlop
Our fabric focus this week is an organic, open weave sheer inspired by the nostalgia of slow crafted homespun textiles that were household essentials for those from the rural heartland of New Zealand. Nature informs this highly curated palette of warm neutrals and grounding greys to offer a tactile and practical sheer suited to both rustic or contemporary spaces. This fabric creates a pretty, subtle textured curtain and is definitely growing to be a Feather & Oak favourite!
3. Lisa by Sofia Bonati
We absolutely adore these captivating abstract female portrait illustrations by Argentine artist Sofia Bonati. This premium quality giclee art print has been produced on luxurious 100% cotton rag textured art paper using archival quality inks resulting in a superior print suitable for museum or gallery display. These prints are only available in-store so pop in for a look!
4. Frida Kahlo Portrait
We simply adore this colourful and vibrant photography portrait of the iconic Frida Kahlo. This would make a lovely gift for any art lovers or those who want to introduce bright, bold colour into a room. Available in-store only these luxurious prints won't last long!
5. Bird Scene Screen
This multi-use beautiful screen will add another dimension to your space. Whether you use it as wall art, a headboard, or as a screen-this vibrant green bird scene is sure to be a talking point! You'll spot these beauties in our window display this week and we hope you'll love them as much as we do!
6. Rattan Rocking Chair
Continuing with our love for rattan there is nothing like sitting back in the comfort of a rocking chair. This solid rattan chair is perfect in a nursery, on a sunny front porch or conservatory.
I have popped a sheepskin on our chair at home to complete a cosy, laid-back look and it is the favourite spot for an afternoon sit in the sun.
7. The NZ Agricultural Show
Like so many Cantabrians our family was thrilled to see the Christchurch Show back this year. We have a long history with attending the show, my grandfather used to show livestock from his farm and met my grandmother when arriving one year - asking to marry her by the show’s end on the Ferris wheel (after eliciting a promise from the owner not to let her off until she said ‘yes’).
My grandparents would be truly proud to see Elliot helping out some friends with their pretty jersey cows, leading and learning all that goes into showing livestock.
