The Weekly Edit

This week on the Weekly Edit, we're diving into the colour forecast for 2025.

We were particularly impressed by the Dulux 2025 Colour Forecast. From soft, muted tones to bold, vibrant hues, these palettes are sure to elevate any space and keep you ahead of the trends.

1. Calming Hues

As the world speeds up, there's a growing desire to embrace serenity and a lighter, more joyful approach to life. Dulux's 2025 colour forecast perfectly captures this sentiment with calming hues like cheerful biscuit yellow, warm orange-based pinks, and pastel tones of pinks and purples.

These soft shades encourage a feeling of tranquillity, inviting you to slow down and savour the simple moments. The inclusion of greyed-off purples and blues adds a subtle sophistication, creating an atmosphere that feels serene yet refined—perfect for winding down from the chaos of everyday life.

These calming hues aren’t just aesthetically pleasing; they also have the power to transform your living spaces into havens of relaxation. In a world where hustle culture dominates, these tones encourage you to take things slower and find joy in stillness.

2. Understated Luxury

There’s a broader cultural shift towards sustainability, and it's shaping the way we design our homes. The Dulux 2025 forecast reflects this movement, with colours that evoke a deeper connection to nature—muted darker tones, warm neutrals, yellow-based greens, and greyed-off blues.

These shades inspire eco-mindfulness and bring the outside world into your interiors, creating an environment that feels grounded, natural, and effortlessly luxurious. Incorporating these colours into your home not only reflects a commitment to sustainability but also enhances the sense of understated elegance.

Warm neutrals provide a calming backdrop, while muted greens and blues invite a sense of freshness and harmony with nature. The balance between luxury and environmental consciousness creates a space that feels rich in both style and substance.

 3. Sophistication

For those who lean towards bold, dramatic interiors, the forecast’s richer hues of purples and burgundy deliver a sense of opulence and cosiness. These colours embody femininity and strength, making them ideal for spaces where you want to create both comfort and luxury.

A touch of rich plum or deep burgundy in a room instantly elevates the space, evoking feelings of sophistication and warmth. With economic uncertainty affecting many, there's also a growing appreciation for unique vintage pieces that bring a sense of heritage and continuity.

Combining classic with modern design allows you to evoke a feeling of luxury while staying connected to the past. Colours like cinnamon, olive, terracotta, and plum capture this essence, offering a warm, timeless palette that’s perfect for blending old-world charm with contemporary elegance.
