The Weekly Edit

This week's edition of the Weekly Edit features a stunning show home in Rangiora that we've just completed for Trendsetter Homes.

Additionally, we offer tips on sprucing up your outdoor space in preparation for summer entertaining, and we discuss the essentials of vanity placement in your bathroom.

1. Showhome Success

We’ve just wrapped up our design project at the Trendsetter Homes Bellgrove, Rangiora Showroom, and we couldn’t be more excited with how it turned out! Seeking a New York loft vibe, we delivered in style!

From selecting industrial-inspired materials and chic colour schemes to curating the perfect furniture and placing every decorative element with care—this project was a dream from start to finish. With oversized windows for that iconic loft feel, complemented by sleek window treatments and dark wood tones that add a touch of urban warmth, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to bring the vision to life.

Head over to Inch Crescent in Bellgrove, Rangiora to see this stunning show home for Trendsetter Homes!

2. Outdoor Revival

As spring approaches, it’s the perfect time to dust off the cobwebs and breathe new life into your outdoor furniture. Start with a thorough clean—wipe down metal frames, treat wooden pieces with a fresh coat of oil, and give outdoor cushions a wash.

Adding colourful throws or cushions can instantly refresh the look while bringing comfort and style back into your outdoor space. To elevate the overall aesthetic, consider incorporating an outdoor rug for texture and warmth. Updating your lighting could be another option, with outdoor lantern lights being popular.

If you don’t want to go to this extent then consider hanging fairy or string light or place solar lights around your garden. Potted plants or herbs could also help to create a cosy and inviting feel, making your outdoor space or garden ready for gatherings and BBQs.

 3. Vanity Placement

In undertaking a bathroom renovation, determining the optimal height for your vanity is crucial. Your builder or plumber will need this information to properly align the tapware.

The standard height for a bathroom vanity ranges from 850mm to 900mm from the floor to the top of the vanity. Consider the specific needs of your household when selecting a height. Families with small children might find the 850mm height more accessible, while taller individuals may prefer the vanity set at 900mm or even up to 950mm. It's important to measure up to the top of the basin for accuracy, not just to the bench top.

We understand there is a huge selection of bathroom fittings out there so if you would like help refreshing your bathroom space please book a interior date with us here!

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2024

One of my favourite outdoor lights is the Nereus Wall Light in aged brass by Mr Ralph Lighting. “Nereus” The ‘Old Man of The Sea’. Add an element of industrial to your outdoor or indoor areas with this unique marine light. This style is available in four finishes: Brass, Aged Brass, Pewter and Satin Nickel.

Design Tip

Incorporate a mixture of ambient, task and accent lighting in your outdoor spaces to enhance functionality and create an amazing atmosphere.
