The Weekly Edit
It has been so nice to have some sunshine finally and feel like we are actually mid-summer! The warmer temperatures fit perfectly with our dive into one of the themes we see for 2025 - Coastal Chic. This trend is one of the easier to fit into your home and is all about classic and timeless details with a simple colour palette.
We have been busy putting together some fun team details with little tidbits and details for you to get to know us a little better. Check out our reel on Instagram this week with a Quick-Fire Nine Question Round. It might even spark some conversation in your house about your next wish list travel destination if you could or your first crush...
1. Coastal Trend
One of the themes coming through for 2025 both in the fashion world and interior design is coastal chic - think timeless blues, crisp whites, linens and small pops of colour. Basically reminiscent of Nancy Meyer’s movie, Something’s Gotta Give. Who didn't love Diane Keaton's home in that movie!!
This trend is more than just fashion and interiors - it’s about a lifestyle. Entertaining, gardening, spending time at the beach, and shopping at your local farmer’s market with a woven basket with leather handles.
The coastal aesthetic translates to your home with a look that is classic, understated and chic, but also easy-breezy and casual. Lots of stripes, fluffy cream cushions, a straw basket or two, casual throws, and weathered wood details. Make sure to keep the ocean motifs to a minimum and include seaside references that are subtle and elevated.
2. Bedspread Love
Ever found if difficult to source the perfect bedding? A bedroom is one room that we help A LOT of clients with. Designing, sourcing, manufacturing and styling beds. Your bed is often the focal point of the room so we are all about making them look pretty.
Welcome to our lovely new client who has hunted high and low to find the perfect bedspreads for her bedroom. To no avail, she reached out and we have the perfect solution! We are making them for her in a wide, textured, beautifully weighted cotton/linen fabric that is washable. Pair with some custom cushions and a throw and you are bed-ready. I’ll be sure to show you the finished bedspreads soon!
Side note: Anyone else finding it hard to be disciplined with bedtime and these lovely long twilights? But is it the twilight or should I be honest and confess to some compelling new reads...hmmmmm.
3. Lifestyle - In The Garden
Our homes, gardens and lifestyle are deeply interconnected, influencing and reflecting one another in many ways. Our gardens often act as an extension of our home providing places to gather and places to withdraw, places to grow food and let's be real - store unsightly items like rubbish bins!
I come from a ‘gardening family’ but over the last five+ years have found gardening to be basically - annoying. A drain on my time, a burden to maintain and hard work all round. I have made a conscious decision to start to change my thinking in 2025 and value the time outdoors gardening affords as well as planting, nurturing and growing some fresh (and delicious) food. I am trying to see the time spent in the garden as a privilege and something to enjoy rather than endure. Here is some of my harvest this weekend - it turns out I am very proficient at growing cucumbers - who knew? Do you like to garden or do you find it a chore??
