1. Artful Spaces

Incorporating artwork into a space can significantly enhance the feel. To achieve colour harmony, select pieces that complement or contrast with your existing palette, creating a cohesive look.

Art can also serve as a focal point, drawing the eye and anchoring the room's design. Consider the theme and style of your space when choosing artwork to ensure a seamless integration that reflects your overall vision. The scale and proportion of the artwork are crucial for balance; oversized pieces can dominate a room, while smaller works might get lost.

Proper lighting highlights the artwork's details and adds dimension, while acoustics can be improved with certain materials that absorb sound. Ultimately, artwork is a form of personal expression, allowing you to showcase your taste and personality, making your space unique.

2. Black & White

This week's colour focus highlights the timeless contrast of black and white in a monochromatic scheme. One of our client’s recently selected a stunning collection of black and white cushions from luxury brands like Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade, epitomising sophistication and elegance.

The stark contrast creates a striking visual impact, setting a luxurious tone. Using black and white in home decor effortlessly exudes a refined and polished ambiance. Adding a metallic, leather or fringed piping to the cushions enhances this feeling of opulence and modern sophistication. The subtle shimmer and texture introduced by these details elevate the design, making the cushions even more captivating.

 3. Wallpaper Deal

Wallpapering a kids' room is an excellent choice for infusing vibrant colours and playful patterns that stimulate and engage children. Not only does it add personality and charm to the space, but it also offers durability and ease of maintenance, making it well-suited to withstand the wear and tear of a lively environment.

Additionally, wallpaper can help define different areas within the room, such as play zones and study areas, adding both structure and style to the space. How gorgeous is this striped whale wallpaper we’re proposing? It’s a charming design that brings a whimsical nautical theme to life.

This month, we’re offering a free wallpaper consultation with our stylist Emma, so you can explore how this delightful pattern could transform your child's room. To book your consultation, follow this link.

Loving for 2024

I am not quite sure if I am a massive monochromatic fan but I have been seeing a lot of people paint their internal or external doors black and I am actually a fan!

Design Tip

When using a monochromatic colour scheme, vary the shades and textures to add depth and interest. Incorporate different material such as fabrics, rugs and artwork to create a rich, layered look.

Quote of the Week

“Our home should be life giving and soul refreshing, a spot to land on a hard day and a beautiful place to recharge and rejuvenate.”
